When you surround yourself with smart people from your industry, you can learn things much faster than by reading book or watching a film.
What people often don't realize is that engaging one-on-one with the main character(s) of a personal story—characters who are either at the same life stage as you are or who have already solved the issue that has been bothering you for the past month—allows you to learn differently.
You won’t forget that conversation because your subconscious mind remembers active conversations differently than passive ones. A passive conversation occurs when you are not fully present (due to an uninteresting topic), or when you watch a scene or read a book from the comfort of your bed.
And that is a huge advantage that many people don’t have, simply because they are unaware of this secret to active learning.
An active learner versus a passive learner can grow in any field of life 10x faster.
So, the only question you need to ask yourself if you want to reach for the stars is, ‘Who do you want to be?’ Do you want to learn and remember things 10x faster, or do you want to be slow and passive learner.
The more information we put in our heads and the older we get, the harder it becomes for our brains to process.
